Summary: Harry and Snape's jobs collide.
A/N: This fic is a tribute to Billy Wilder's 'Irma la Douce'. I shamelessly stole the idea and great chunks of the plot. Yet, Severus isn't sweet, Knockturn Alley isn't Paris, and, most importantly, there are no dragons in Wilder's comedies, and so the story turned out to have a mind of its own.

The first time I read this, I said to myself, "This is what you miss when you're writing so much that you hardly every get to read. What else has this author written and where can I find it?" Because I love the way Anders writes: wry, cleverly crafted, spots of narrative that make your eyes sting, and one-liners that make you laugh out loud.

The story itself is unique: Snape as a whore--a proud one--eeking out his living in Knockturn Alley after the Ministry's divesting him of any other recourse. Harry's smitten and driven to extremes to 'limit' Snape's clientele; there's an interesting mystery plot, endearing devices with dragons and phoenixes, and I can't believe I'm saying this about a cross-dressing whore-Snape--he's entirely IC and gruff and devious. Plotty and well-developed characterizations of some major and minor canon characters that are refreshing, especially Percy, Ginny and Draco.
