The prompt for this fic is infidelity. So if that's a squick of yours, don't read! But it's not your usual infidelity fic--you can sort of infer that from the title. It's a deftly drawn character study, not only of the infidelity, but of Harry and Snape's lives together as well. Harry's off on the search for the perfect wood for the perfect broom, and Snape's immersed in the world of potions ingredients. You can feel the wood between your legs and the blossoms on your fingertips--that's how good she is. It's short, too. I loved this for its realistic resolution. No fireworks or fervent declarations --just the steadiness of life that goes on.
