Summary: It's hard to ignore your past — and impossible to do so when you can't remember your future. But a meddlesome portrait, a dragon with an ancient grudge and true love's kiss teach an unlikely Prince that a regrettable past doesn't have to mean an unhappy ending.

Not many stories make me cry--I'm too jaded, I guess. But this one did. Not because it's sad, but because of a beautiful moment where Harry is literally gifted with a glimpse of the woman that Lily was. The story also features a de-aged Snape (after a wonderful moment in the beginning of the fic where Snape actually catches on fire), and the adolescent dance between Harry and this vulnerable version of Snape, in all of their teen-aged fumbling glory, was the best part of the story for me.

It has original magic and a conclusion with adult Snape that made me feel like I'd just finished my box of chocolates and was happily ready for a nap. You definitely don't want to miss this one.

It's been a while since I've posted Viola Kenshin pictures. She's growing fast. Last night we heard a noise in the kitchen, and she'd pushed a kitchen chair over to the sink, got up on it and was playing with silverware. She's pretty tiny for her age, at 17 months.
