State of the joan.....
It's the end of July--woah. Where's the summer gone? Honestly, I have little to show for the past six weeks.




The Bill/Snape is about at the halfway point; I've been taking my time, and even though this is for Round Ten of thematic_hp and I'm late, I'm not forcing this one. It's been a while since I've been able to write like this, sans deadline, and I'm savoring the process...although I do think I have to get the lead out a bit.

I'm also in the planning stages of a Snarry for hpstrangelove who bought my ass in the longlivenmarry auction. It's in the research stage, and I'm already having fun--all I can say is I LOVE SCOTLAND!

About a week ago, I applied to join 100quills over on IJ, but I've not heard anything yet. Drabble writing has grown on me, and for anyone with word counts like I manage to run up, this can only be a good thing, right?

Dithering a bit about which holiday fest to sign up for; also doing some stern talking to myself about the potential length of that fic... Can I do it? Stay tuned this winter when all will be revealed: can RaeWhit get to the heart of the matter in less than 91,000 words?? (cue organ music).

Viola is getting more interesting by the day. She can almost say, 'à la peanut butter sandwiches', although the middle gets a bit garbled. She's so cute that I want to squish her too much--she's catching on to me, I think, and is rationing her hugs and kisses. Still very tiny and mignonne.

Speaking of French, I've not taken on a translating project in a while, although I will be posting a small, recently posted fic of lychee_ln's, called 'Two Weddings', which features a rare-pair. I've given up waiting for her to complete the sequel to 'Everybody Wants to Be a Cat', and have decided, with a little underhanded prodding from the peanut gallery ptyx, that I'm going to translate sioban_parker's Snarry, Cloîtré. It's an AU fic with a medieval and monastic theme. Here's her summary:

In fifth year, Harry is stunned to discover that, in a prior life, he was a novice in a monastery. And that Snape was with him.

She writes really good Snarry; a while back, I wanted to do her fic 'Sous la peau', but couldn't find the time. This one is a peach of a fic, and I'm excited to be translating it. She's given me her blessing, and I'm determined to do it justice.

Looking forward to Terminus. Me and amand_r and tripperfunster in the same room...who among us, I ask you, is going to be the adult and make us behave? Who, I ask you? mwaaaaahaaaaaaaaa gnark gnark gnark!!! That was soooooo a rhetorical question.

Well, that's all my news. Except amand_r and I traded a cat (long story why), so now I have Lily, Hermione, Weasley and Sasquatch. Poor Sasquatch hasn't been Sorted yet...
