Title: Harry's Pockets Team: AU Author: joanwilder Prompt: 10. Well, you just let the kneazle out of the bag. Wordcount: 29,300 Rating: NC-17 Warnings: None. Summary: Clowns are downright creepy, Harry's always thought, so when he and Luna hire one to work in their Party Props shop, he prepares for the worst.
Author's Note: My gratitude to my teammates for the wonderful community experience that was Team AU. And many thanks to jadzialove, beta and friend extraordinaire.
Since this is my main story contribution (I will have another in the Cup, as a pinch-hit), this isn't really a rec. Srsly, I've never liked clowns much, but I got the clown bug for this one--I even bought a Clown Omnibus book for 'research' (rolls eyes). Rather pleased with how it turned out--it was fun to write Luna especially, and Snape (duh), as well as setting Harry up for quite a surprise.

I've managed to get a bit behind, so I have two recs here:
Title: The Magical Mystery Tour Team: AU Author: teganscrush Prompt: 12. Keep your friends close, and your enemies stupefied. Wordcount: 15,010 Rating: PG-13 Warnings: Minor language. Summary: The Magical Mystery Tour is the must-see show of the Wizarding world, but when a new act joins up, events take a sudden and potentially deadly turn. Leave it to Harry Potter and his literary hero to save Draco Malfoy, and the day as well.
This is actually AR, but it's a delightful read. All the canon characters appear in some way; there's an intriguing mystery, a collaboration between Harry and Draco, and some really snort-worthy moments and awesome one-liners. I enjoyed every minute of it, because, hey, who doesn't love the circus! And you know you're dying to know who Lucius Malfoy ends up with...
Title: primum mobile, or ten forgotten things Team: AU, baby! Author: kirinin Prompt: 20. Close your eyes and think of Hogwarts. Wordcount: just over 4,000 Rating: PG Warnings: None, really. Summary: The truth: logic isn't in the lump in his throat, in his stuttering pulse. He needs the certainty of his name on someone else's lips, which means he needs Malfoy...
Honestly, I read this fic three times yesterday. It's short and expertly written, but the premise is one that made me take quick little shallow breaths until I got to the end. Draco and Harry are caught in a conundrum of...losing things, and I can't say more about that without spoiling the story. Unlike some reviewers, though, I thought the ending a happy one, considering where Harry and Draco had ended up. You don't want to miss this one, trust me!

Title: The First Day of Spring Artist: reira_21 Team: AU Prompt: 6. No use in crying over spilt potion. Rating: R Warnings: Naked men. Summary: Since Voldemort's death, winter has lasted for three years.
A picture is worth a thousand words. In this case there's more than one picture, but it's made me wish I were an artist, because it would take me thousands of words to tell this story as well as the artist has. It's a Harry/Draco story, of how things change and come to a head, how the realization that it's time for a change comes gradually, and although the decision comes painfully, in the end the choice to move on is the best one. Set to beautiful, melancholy music, this one will break your heart a bit and stay with you for a long time.

Title: Six Years Author: chyldofeternity Team: AU Prompt: 24. Don't count your mandrakes before they're re-potted. Wordcount: 4,298 Rating: PG-13 Warnings: Angst, character death. Summary: Hermione's a new Psychiatrist at the Institute. Will she be able to help her troubled patient with his illness?
My thoughts: this story got off to a rocky start as the first Team AU entry, as the author unintentionally forgot the character death warning. It's been added now, but in a way, it's a shame that had to be done, as the surprise at the end loses a bit of its punch. The prompt itself, if you think about it, almost calls for angst, though--a warning to not be too sure of your reality... This is a bizarre twisting of canon into the delusional, while reality is a magic-less world. It's haunting and very well-written, short and even if you run shrieking into the night from character death, this is a story about love that persists in the face of tragedy, that waits and doesn't give up.

Title: Alibi Author: dracofiend Pairing: Harry/Draco Rating: PG-13 Summary: Harry interrogates Draco Malfoy. Genre: Romance ficlet. On the angsty side, maybe.
I think I've only ever rec-ed one other Harry/Draco in my life. This is short, but it felt lonnnnnng, in the sense that I forgot to breathe when I was reading it, and had this lump in my throat. dracofiend seems to have a penchant for doing that to me, for some reason. It's the beautiful writing, the almost surreal description of Harry's routine, it's the dread, it's the inevitability, it's the...omgending. My palms were even sweaty.
