Title: Montague and Capulet Team: AU Author: joanwilder Prompt: 9. Reparo in time saves nine. Wordcount: 20,000+ Rating: NC-17 Warnings: Character death of original (non-canon) characters. Summary: Harry and Draco live in peace together at Grimmauld Place, but it's taken a hard lesson, taught to them by their children, to get them there. Author's Note: My heartfelt thanks to jadzialove and scarlet_malfoy for the excellent beta-reading. Team AU, thank you for all of your support!
This is my second story in the World Cup, and I actually think it's the better one. A cautionary tale of how buried resentment and ill-will, bias and prejudice, are transmitted to the next generation, whether we intend it or not. In the end, Harry and Draco have found some peace in each other, but have paid a price.

Title: Fallen Far From the Tree Author: joanwilder Rating:NC-17 Pairing(s): Harry/Snape, Albus Severus/Snape Disclaimer: All Harry Potter characters herein are the property of J.K. Rowling and Bloomsbury/Scholastic/Warner Brothers, Inc. No copyright infringement is intended. Summary: Caught between two generations of Potters—literally—Snape discovers that his namesake is cut from a different cloth than his father. Warnings: Infidelity, bondage, non-con Word Count: 19,000 Author's Notes: There is no chan in this story. There is, however, per my recipient's request, post-war Headmaster Snape. I'll leave it up to you to decide if he's pervy; I do think he's ugly. Thank you, jadzialove, for beta reading. This was written for hp_springsmut for cnary_crem_dght.

Title: Harry's Pockets Team: AU Author: joanwilder Prompt: 10. Well, you just let the kneazle out of the bag. Wordcount: 29,300 Rating: NC-17 Warnings: None. Summary: Clowns are downright creepy, Harry's always thought, so when he and Luna hire one to work in their Party Props shop, he prepares for the worst.
Author's Note: My gratitude to my teammates for the wonderful community experience that was Team AU. And many thanks to jadzialove, beta and friend extraordinaire.
Since this is my main story contribution (I will have another in the Cup, as a pinch-hit), this isn't really a rec. Srsly, I've never liked clowns much, but I got the clown bug for this one--I even bought a Clown Omnibus book for 'research' (rolls eyes). Rather pleased with how it turned out--it was fun to write Luna especially, and Snape (duh), as well as setting Harry up for quite a surprise.

Title: Six Years Author: chyldofeternity Team: AU Prompt: 24. Don't count your mandrakes before they're re-potted. Wordcount: 4,298 Rating: PG-13 Warnings: Angst, character death. Summary: Hermione's a new Psychiatrist at the Institute. Will she be able to help her troubled patient with his illness?
My thoughts: this story got off to a rocky start as the first Team AU entry, as the author unintentionally forgot the character death warning. It's been added now, but in a way, it's a shame that had to be done, as the surprise at the end loses a bit of its punch. The prompt itself, if you think about it, almost calls for angst, though--a warning to not be too sure of your reality... This is a bizarre twisting of canon into the delusional, while reality is a magic-less world. It's haunting and very well-written, short and even if you run shrieking into the night from character death, this is a story about love that persists in the face of tragedy, that waits and doesn't give up.

Title: To Ev'ry Wandering Bark, A Star Author: Anonymous ( hp_springsmut entry) Rating: R Pairing: Snape/Percy Summary: Two lost souls, resigned to loneliness, meet by chance: a tale of rapport and rediscovery told by two voices.
This is 1200 words, so bite the dust and ignore the pairing if you don't like it. What floored me about this fic was the original and oh so effective formatting that the author tried out here. I've never seen this done this way; she used her formatting to simultaneously present two first-person POVs, with their thoughts sometimes converging. I'm not going to spoil it for content, which is satisfying and for a fic this short, expertly executed. But the formatting alone makes reading it time well-spent.

Title: Alibi Author: dracofiend Pairing: Harry/Draco Rating: PG-13 Summary: Harry interrogates Draco Malfoy. Genre: Romance ficlet. On the angsty side, maybe.
I think I've only ever rec-ed one other Harry/Draco in my life. This is short, but it felt lonnnnnng, in the sense that I forgot to breathe when I was reading it, and had this lump in my throat. dracofiend seems to have a penchant for doing that to me, for some reason. It's the beautiful writing, the almost surreal description of Harry's routine, it's the dread, it's the inevitability, it's the...omgending. My palms were even sweaty.

Title: Alone Author: snegurochka_lee Pairing: Snape/Lupin Rating: PG-13 Word Count: 1250 Genre: Angst Summary: Lupin was always shit at Legilimency; Snape never needed to fear that Lupin would breach his mind. That did not keep him from practicing daily, however, in order to be ready for the day Snape was certain was coming, the day Lupin would walk back into Snape's life and train those pleading eyes on him once more.
I'm not a big Snupin fan; about the only time I read it is when I see a writer I like (Lee) do it. Lee has this ability to describe things so you taste the grit of bitterness in your mouth and feel the raw emotions of her characters (I cried, I really did). The ficlet portrays a scene in Snape's life when he's feeling the weight of abandonment, how he imagines he'll address this betrayal in a future moment.
Per the author's note, this is a missing canon moment. It's a raw, realistic reflection that made me feel sorry for both of them; I know that most of my flist are Snarry folk, but don't pass this by and miss out.

Title: Bred in Captivity Author: jadzialove Rating: NC-17 Pairing(s): Harry Potter/Severus Snape, Harry/OMC, Ron/Hermione Summary: Being sentenced to serve his time in Potter's custody is not the ultimate price Severus expected to pay for his crimes. It's not Harry's idea of post-war bliss either. But in making the best of a bad situation, they just might find something neither could have anticipated: understanding.
This was jadzialove's entry for hp_yule_balls. Snape is released into Harry's custody after the war, is maudlin and depressed, Harry takes care of him, then the tables are turned and Snape has to decide whether or not...OH NO, THAT'S ENOUGH, I'm giving away the story! It's a great read; Snape's inner monologue is perfectly Snape, there's jealously, and an OMC, as well as a likable adult Hermione, everything I like to find in a Snarry. I've said it before, but I'll say it again: the author is a queen of one-liner's, particularly the ones she puts in Snape's mouth. This story is angsty and sad in places, but has a touch of romance, and trust me, by the end you'll be wholly satisfied.
Title: A Master's Love Author: sweetmelodykiss Rating: NC-17 Pairing(s): Severus/Harry Summary: Post war: Once again, Harry needs rescuing from himself and the only man for the job is Snape.
This was my gift in hp_yule_balls, for which I asked for Snarry BDSM. This is a D/s fic, so stay away if that squicks you, by my, my it pressed all my ♥ buttons. It's well-written, features a submissive Harry who's made a mess of his life, and then Snape agrees to take him on. The best part of this story is that the author got the BDSM right--not a torture fest or dominating for the hell of it, but as a lifestyle choice with rules and respect for each other openly portrayed.

Title: Severus and the Doomsday Affair Author: jadzialove Pairing: Snarry Rating: NC-17 Summary: Summary: Severus sets out on the journey of a lifetime, determined to live before he dies.
HAAAAAA, so jadzialove wrote this great Snarry for me for Christmas, aided and abetted by amand_r, who must've been drowning in the irony of us both writing seekrit Snarrys for each other based on Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan movies. So, Joe vs the Volcano' met 'You've got Mail'. This Snarry I was gifted with turns on one of those universal/classic themes that never gets old: if you knew you were going to die in X months, what would you do now?
Her story is funny, has some endearing OC's I loved, and the idea of Snape deciding to go after something he wants while he still has time put a lump in my throat before I even started. Her Snape was sad and snarky and sexy at the same time, although I did want to shake him a few times, as I'm sure Harry wanted to do more than once. It's about 11,000 words, and it's SNARRY! You'll love it!
And if you've not read her snarry_holidays story, I want to recommend that one to you as well. It's:
Title: Puzzled Together Author: jadzialove Rating: NC-17 Summary: At forty-two, Harry Potter finally felt it was safe to relax and enjoy his life, until his own life-long inability to resist a puzzle gets him into the sort of trouble only Severus Snape can fix.
This story has some intriguing original magic (magical puzzle boxes), mature Harry and Snape, magical bonding, and a side-dish of Albus Severus and Scorpius. Harry is alone at the beginning, but there's no Ginny bashing, and the fic has some exquisite twists and turns.

Title: Second Best Author: joanwilder aka RaeWhit Pairing: Harry Potter/Severus Snape Rating: NC-17 Genre: Romance Word Count: 23,500 Beta: amand_r--thanks for all of your help! Disclaimer: The Potter universe belongs to J.K. Rowling. Summary: Two lonely men find each other in an internet chatroom, and ultimately discover that it is, indeed, a small world after all.
Author's Notes: This story was commissioned by Sparky for jadzialove as a Christmas gift. The particulars of how they first met, as well as many other small details, have been incorporated into the story. The similarities of their story inspired me to use several plot devices from the Hanks/Ryan film, 'You've Got Mail', as well as a few poignant lines that I've shamelessly put into the mouths of Harry and Snape. This was for me a writing experience like none other, fueled by my affection for these two women who, against the odds, found each other. Happy Anniversary, you two!
This story is now completely posted.
