Title: A Tempest Brewing
Artist: [info]lizardspots
Team: Snitch
Genre(s): Mentor/Severitus (*Click for the Severitus Challenge*)
Prompt(s): Stormy Weather, The Long Goodbye
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: PG-13

This is Severitus (drum roll, please....) incest! Ah yeah, been waiting for this one, and the artist chose to depict THAT moment--you know the one that I mean, the one where the two of them have it out, because one of them knew and didn't tell the other, and instead let teh Snarry-smut go on. Oh yeah, this is angsty, and it's raining, and they're up on top of the Astronomy Tower, and you hold your breath because Harry's so angry...and then...OH YEAH. This is graphic novel style, done in pencil, and as usual Lizard's characters and detail are beautiful. And that kiss at the end is one of the best ones of the Games!

Title: Rapture
Author: Mia Ugly [info]mia_ugly
Team: Snitch
Genre(s): Time-Travel
Prompt(s): The Long Goodbye, Achilles Heel
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: NC17
Summary: Snape sees the man, for the first time, on his twenty-fifth birthday.

Having read all the fics in the Games (except for three, which I've partially read and skimmed the rest of), I have no qualms about saying this is my favorite story in the Games. Actually, it's the best Snarry I've read in a long while. The author will dismantle you, and then put you back together again. It's an intermittent time travel fic, but never confusing. Harry's determined and desperate, Snape (at 25-34 yrs of age) is emotionally and socially stunted, to the point that you'll cry for him. The sex is real, lays bare both their vulnerabilities, and there are several times in this story that the magnitude of Snape's sacrifice, his unselfish, unwavering integrity will break through and...make you cry again. It ends in present day, fittingly, and there is hope. I'm not saying more, because embarking on this fic is a journey that everyone should experience unspoilt. I read this months ago for the first time, and it's been on my mind ever since. Rereading it, I'm finding I'm doomed to months more of the same. I don't need to tell you about the writing, or the plot subtleties, or the how the author has that ability to make you feel like you're in the very room with her characters. It's what Mia does in each and every one of her stories. So get a cup of {beverage of choice} and settle in for a few hours--you won't be able to stop once you start.\

The last entry of the Games has been posted. Thanks to everyone who followed. There's a week for 'catch-up' reading/viewing, and you can still vote!

Title: Guy Who...?
Artist: [info]morganlefay1958
Team: Snitch
Genre(s): Genderbender, Fusion
Prompt(s): Eat Cake
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: PG13

I have a fondness for art done in pencil and ink, so that's the first thing I'll mention about this. It's a composite entry, based on the artist's own WIP. Harry's a woman (due to a Dark arts curse), who runs a diner where they serve cinnamon buns that Severus loves. There's a cute interaction between the two of them, where it's clear that Severus doesn't like to share (Harry or his buns), then a lovely genderbending explicit scene where Harry's getting his bits groped! Hee!

Title: Tombstone, the Town Too Tough To Die
Author: [info]wook77
Team: Snitch!
Genre(s): Alive and Kicking (EWE)
Prompt(s): Second Impression, Go West
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: PG-13
Summary: Some of the things you find in Tombstone – copper, cowboys, rattlesnakes, sunshine, wooden sidewalks, gunfights, and one Severus Snape (the man too tough to die).

I do love to see fics where Snape and Harry are transplanted into new places, but their canon past is preserved. This is a funny, well-written fic, not very long, in which Harry discovers, lo and behold, that Snape is very alive and well and living in Tombstone. Great dialogue between the two of them; I howled, srsly, howled. Snape is at his snarky, withering best, and Harry's mature enough to give it right back at 'im, and push at the end to give us a very Snarry conclusion. Really enjoyed the writer's style and panache!

Title: Dream a Bloody Dream
Artist: Ponderosa
Team: Snitch
Genre: Mentor
Prompts: Secrets and Lies, Consequences
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: PG

This is a darker piece, and it took me a while to figure it out. I think I'm used to 'getting' it right away, but once I took my time to consider the genre and prompts, and carefully look at the clues the artist gave, it turns out there's been a horrible crime committed, and the detective agency on the case is Potter-Snape. Harry and Snape are grim in this, because this murder's hit close to home. Done in a film-noir style, the artist uses color and multiple collage type images to tell this story. Mentor is the genre, and I can't help but believe that the two of them will find justice in the end.

Title: Death and the Open Mind
Author: [info]loupgarou1750
Team: Snitch
Genre(s): Alive and Kicking (EWE)
Prompt(s): Can You Hear Me?/Last Hope
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: NC-17
Summary: Harry's having nightmares, blurting out rude things, causing trauma, generally behaving badly, and thinks he may be going mad.

First, I love the way Loup writes. Every single time. Honest dialogue, raw visceral emotion, real pathos and scary inner workings of the mind--in this case, Harry's. He's sort of unraveling because this little voice in his head has suddenly seemed to have had enough, enough of everyone and everything, and oh my god, he thinks he's losing it. Turns out, though, he's *cough* been infested by the thought processes of someone who's gone but not quite dead. This inner monologue between Snape and Harry is the showpiece of the story. Even though Snape isn't physically present, you almost forget that little detail. Of course, Harry can't leave him that way, so hijinks ensue to get him back. Emotionally wrenching and heartfelt, this'll have you on the edge of your chair and reading way into the wee hours. And will leave you with a smile.

Title: What Would You Do for Love?
Artist: [info]plantinshadows
Team: Snitch!!!
Genre(s): Gender Bender and/or Crossdressing; Literary and/or Historical
Prompt(s): Love and Marriage
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: PG

The artist has a summary that explains the story in the subsequent panels, which draw off of her title. What would you do for love? This is the story of forbidden love, and how sacrifices are made so the lovers can be together. I think we're all well-aware of the hurt in our own time that's come from prejudice, so although this is a story of nineteenth century England, it's pertinent to our current society as well. The art is beautiful, the scenes she chose to portray are strategic ones, and the one where Harry sits and deliberates what he's about to do, made me tear up.

Title: This Noble Land by Conquest Won
Author: Hysterical Hystorian [info]abigail89
Team: Snitch
Genre(s): Alive and Kicking
Prompt(s): Go West, Symphony
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: R
Summary: Harry and Severus have found life sweet amongst Muggles in Vermont. But their peaceful world is shattered one day in a most unexpected way.

This is an established relationship Snarry, one in which I love how comfortable the two of them are with each other. There're intriguing occupations for both of them as they hide from wizarding England in rural Vermont. Mary Anne is an OC who made me laugh out loud. This author does dialogue so well, and there's a plot involving 'family revenge' that shows that Snape and Harry weren't as secluded as they thought they were. This is a fast read, an enjoyable one, with some quiet moments and reflections (Snape driving a car, enjoying the wind in his hair) that I found beautiful.

This is a delightful pic, and I had to look at it for a few seconds before I got that twinkle in my eye. Hehe. Great colors, lovely posing, and yes! It's Glam Rock!Snarry. I was so glad to see that folks picked up this prompt and did such a great job with it, as did this artist.

Title: The Fourth Deathly Hallow
Author: Gingertart [info]gingertart50
Team: Snitch
Genre(s): Fandom Crossovers and Literary and/or Historical
Prompt(s): Code of Honour
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: PG
Summary: From the private journal of John. H. Watson MD; not intended for publication. Being an account of the strange case of the Fourth Deathly Hallow; in which Dr John H. Watson and Mr Sherlock Holmes save a life, discover the true secret of Professor Moriarty, unravel a time loop or two, encounter a femme fatale, imbibe potions, break into and out of a wizarding mansion, hide in a male brothel, go shopping, track down a magical artefact, almost attend a ritual sacrifice, fail to be Obliviated and totally ignore the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy of 1692, all in the company of a lank-haired, irascible but secretly besotted schoolmaster, a bemused aristocrat and an increasingly perceptive and enamoured young hero.

The summary itself tells you a great deal, so I'll not repeat any of it. Harry and Draco and Snape end up in nineteenth century England, rescued from their 'landing' by Watson, drawn into the battle against the DL of that era, all the while searching for the elusive fourth Hallow, without which they cannot return to their own time. There's some great relationship building in this story, and not just the Snarry. Holmes and Snape are wonderfully IC, Draco and Harry begrudgingly set aside their differences, fascinating OCs appear, all the while the reader is skillfully indoctrinated into Watson's London. Plenty of action in this story, but you're never lost; there are some of those gratifying ties to the Wizarding world we all know, things from the past that tie into the present and vice-versa. This is immediately post Shrieking Shack, so there's some resolution that must occur; this is a time when morés were different, so it's interesting to watch the narrator struggle with what's 'acceptable' and what seems 'reasonable.

This is long, but it's so very worth the read. The crossover needs no explanation, and by the end of this, I was thinking...must go find me some more of this!

Title: The Wild, Wizarding West
Artist: [info]chazpure
Team: Team Snitch
Genre(s): Crossover/Fusions
Prompt(s): Fire and Sword, Go West
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: None
Artist's Notes/Disclaimers/Thank you to: In the aftermath of the US Civil War, Sorcerous Agents Potter and Snape traveled by private railway car together throughout the West for the newly formed Secret Service. Potter, a charming wandslinger and peerless flyer, and Snape, brilliant potions brewer and master of disguise, formed a deep, if unlikely bond as they faced countless dangers together.

This is a wonderful fusion of Snarry and the Wild Wild West. If you're old enough to remember the TV series, you'll laugh your head off. If you're not, you'll still get a kick out it. It's in graphic novel form--the art is great, but the written text is even better. The artist has managed to capture the campiness of the episodes: there's Voldie in a cowboy hat, Bella Polyjuiced as Harry, Harry in a union suit, and he also has Snitch spurs. And there's a plot, with our heroes besting the bad guys in the end, then a final full color piece of art, showing them celebrating their victory, in true Snarry style. Oh, Snape's legs!

Title: Sands of Time
Author: [info]rons_pigwidgeon
Team: Snitch
Genre(s): Time Travel, Fandom Crossovers and/or Fusions
Prompt(s): Sands of Time
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: NC-17
Summary: Harry is on the hunt for a serial killer, who is bent on making his mark by murdering famous wizards and witches in Time. While testing a special Time-Turner that can move both forwards and backwards in Time, Harry and Severus have an accident and find themselves in the middle of the underground facilities of Torchwood. They soon find out that these strange Muggles can help them track their killer and solve the crime.

This is a Torchwood crossover, and the wizarding world seems to have a serial killer who travels through time. Harry and Snape enlist the aid of Jack Harkness et al, and there's Harry/Jack, an intriguing plot with an unexpected villain, and Draco in a role I've not seen before. There's a surprise twist in Harry's choice of occupation at the end, but it fits, and Snape's all right with it. You don't need to know TW to enjoy this ride, and I even started to like Jack by the time I was finished. An enjoyable read!

Title: Devils And Angels At The Helm
Artist: [info]wotchertonks7
Team: Snitch
Genre(s): Literary
Prompt(s): Pride and Prejudice/ Angels and Demons
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: PG13

This is one of those 'good vs bad' angels on your shoulder things. It's a cartoon, and Harry is beset by his inner angel and demon as he considers his Potions master. The progression of what these two tell him is hysterical, and Harry finally succumbs and 'makes his move'. Snape, of course, responds in a predictably hysterical manner, and honestly, I just howled with laughter through the entire thing, especially at the one frame where the angel, demon and Harry are all in agreement.

Title: The Weight We Carry
Author: [info]atypicalsnowman

Genre: Alive and Kicking
Prompts: Dream a Little Dream, Can You Hear Me?
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: NC-17
Summary: The morning after the battle at Hogwarts, Harry wakes up to find himself alone and the task of defeating Voldemort uncompleted. Overwhelmed and suffering from strange nightmares, Harry finds the strength to finish it for the last time when Snape arrives to help.

This story occurs in the immediate aftermath of the war. Harry wakes up to the horrible discovery that Voldemort isn't dead; he must've missed a Horcrux. Snape is there to help him, and Harry has horrible dreams. But WAIT! All is not as it seems, and the author does a damn fine job of playing with the reader. I won't spoil it for you, but to say that there's a believable progression of Harry seeing Snape as a person, a heart-wrenching realization by Harry that he really is disappointed that he didn't die, and then he and Snape 'find' each other, and hot sex ensues. But what will happen when reality rights itself, is the question. This story engaged me from beginning to end, had had me doing that 'must read non-stop' maneuver.

Artist: [info]a_belladonna

Genre(s): Historical
Prompt(s): Hold my hand, Candle in the window
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: G:

This is a beautiful watercolor, with an historical genre. I'm not certain of the exact reference, but there's a central posing of the two that's so sad and radiates love and compassion. It makes me think they might be in a monastery, but that's just a guess. Nevertheless, it's heartbreaking and compelling.

Title: Play the Game
Author: [info]hpstrangelove
Team: Snitch
Genre: Alive and Kicking
Prompts: Play the Game, Underworld
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: NC-17
Summary: When Auror Harry Potter goes missing during an investigation of a wizarding sex club where abducted Muggles are being forced to work, his best friend and former lover, Draco Malfoy, calls upon the reclusive Severus Snape for help. For six years, Severus has refused to have anything to do with Harry, wishing that he’d never given Harry his memories in the Shrieking Shack. Now that Harry is missing, he is having second thoughts about rejecting Harry’s offers of friendship. After searching for six months, Draco and Severus are beginning to think they won’t find Harry alive. Harry, meanwhile, is barely surviving, and thinks that the person responsible for his imprisonment and torture – is Severus Snape.

First, heed the warnings, ho! There's non-con, torture and all manner of sexual perversion, but there is a really well-developed plot that takes Harry captive to the U.S. and sets Draco and Snape in action to find him. I beta read this one, and I smugly thought I had it figured out, but I was wrong! The sexual torture in this took a great deal of imagination and descriptive ability on the part of the author, and Harry suffers, of course, but he still isn't broken. There are parts to this that had me digging at my skin and even flinching, like a good non-con torture-y fic should, and I had a moment when I wondered if it'd all turn out, and I can assure you that...Haaaaaa, sucker, you thought I'd tell you?! Excellent read!

Title: Mis-firing Portkey (or Typical Men)
Artist: [info]tripperfunster
Team: Little Balls, baby!
Genre(s): Crossover/Timetravel
Prompt(s): Consequences
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: G; None
Artist's Notes Imagine, if you will, a mis-firing portkey in the form of a television remote. Of course, being male, Harry and Snape STILL have to fight over it, despite the dire consequences.

So, the two typical men here are fighting over a TV remote (HAAAAA!), and it turns out to be a Portkey that misfires and sends them hurtling into a number of different universes. You'll recognize the other pairings here. There's Sponge Bob, of course (this is tripper, for god's sake), and Bert and Ernie and Kirk and Spock, and it's so much fun to consider the possibilities! Great color and this is Tripp at her cartoonish best! I looked at this for at least ten minutes, grinning from ear to ear.

Title: His Mother's Eyes
Author: [info]nestinghedwig (LinW)
Team: Team Snitch
Genre(s): Mentor
Prompt(s): Coming Home, Into Temptation
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: PG13
Summary: AU. When Arabella Figg defies Albus Dumbledore, Severus takes his chance at redemption.

This is a beautiful mentor fic that begins when Snape is just twenty-five. It's what happens when other responsible adults step in and take charge of Harry's miserable childhood at the Dursleys. Faced with the fact of Harry's abuse, Snape becomes involved, then becomes a victim himself. There's a lovely Italian setting, a strong hero!Flitwick, a satisfying relationship between the recuperating Snape and a six year old Harry. Running through it all is the spectre of the ominous chess game that a manipulative and unsympathetic Dumbledore is playing with more than one person's life. I really enjoyed this story, and found myself rooting for both Snape and Harry to escape their canon fates.

Title: Some Enchanted Evening
Artist: [info]karasu_hime

Genre(s): Crossdressing
Prompt(s): Dream a Little Dream and Some Enchanted Evening
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: Rated: G

This is one of those entries you have to pause while viewing, because something happens. Oh, does it ever. Harry and Snape are cutting a fine figure on the dance floor(lovely lines, dipped in a tango), when Harry casts a spell on his partner, and yeah, you get to watch the transformation right before your eyes. I can't even begin to understand how this is done; it's sort of up there with trying to figure out how I can fit 500 songs on a 2 x 3 inch piece of metal. Bah, I don't need to fully understand it to enjoy it, and the same is true here. I actually gasped.

Title: Rook Castling Kingside
Author: [info]whitecotton
Team: Snitch
Genre(s): Alive and Kicking
Prompt(s): Playing the Game and Last Hope
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: NC-17
Summary: Severus knows he is going to die in the war and is more than happy to oblige. Too long he has been the rook to Dumbledore’s queen, protector of Harry Potter – the king. Now he yearns only for peace. As the war with the Dark Lord intensifies, he makes his plans and indulges in recollection.

This is a wartime fic that follows the canon timeline, but it's been enriched by a non-linear narrative that goes back and changes a few crucial details, the most important being that Harry is aware ahead of time what Dumbledore has asked Snape to do, and in the end, this turns out to make all the difference, for both of them. This is one of those fics you're going to have to trust me on, because to divulge too much will spoil it. I will say that this author has one of the best grasps on how I hear Snape speak in my head; I enjoyed the dialogue in this story immensely; her Snape is IC, his machinations seem horrible at first, but then the reader begins to understand, and is in awe. I started to read this and didn't look away from the monitor until I finished, and was shocked at how long I'd sat there, completely absorbed.

Artist: [info]littleblackbow

Genre(s): Crossover

Rating/Warnings/Kinks: Rating: PG; None
Artist's Notes/Disclaimers/Thank you to: Dark Shadows was a supernatural soap opera from the 60's that takes place in a fishing village in Maine and the Collinwood estate that overlooks the town. It has a cult following among many of us who love vampires, werewolves, ghosts, etc. Barnabas Collins is the vampire in the series. Harry is in the role of Vicky Winters whose point of view the series is from for the most part. I encourage anyone and everyone to go check it out. Most of the episodes are condensed and available on Youtube. :D

This artist has a very unique way of portraying Harry and Snape--that's the first thing I love about her Snarry in general. In this entry, she manages to tell a crossover story, using music that seems just made for it, and a moving motion picture technique that carries you along from frame to frame so that one leads to the other seamlessly. The ending is a surprise, but not sad or hopeless. Make sure you sit and think about who actually cast that spell. I remember Dark Shadows with fondness; her narrative, though, is sufficient to allow this to stand on its own. Like any art this artist sends our way, it's got that quality that'll have you watching it multiple times, and then going back later for more.

Title: She Who Knows the Orphan
Author: [info]dacro
Team: The Snitchies! (best team evah!)
Genre(s): Historical (Ancient Egypt)
Prompt(s): Act of Mercy & Hunger
Rating/Warnings: PG-13
Word Count: 13,400 ish
Summary: After using accidental magic to turn Pharaoh's would-be assassin to stone, an orphan suddenly finds himself with new rooms, new clothes and a new title: Palace Magician. When told he must choose a personal servant for himself, he selects someone who doesn't seem long for the world – a former priest and healer accused of murder.

I don't even know where to start with this story. Maybe with my admiration for yet another author who's managed to subvert their narrative style to the times and setting of her story. Or perhaps it should be with the incredible sense of identification I developed with this Egypt of hers, her central characters Harefre and Severus (so like the canon characters, but so much belonging to this world she's created). This is a beautiful love story, a Snarry one where the familiar themes of ostracizing someone who's different, growing up without parents, being seduced by power and suffering the inevitable downfall--all of them reminiscent of canon conflicts. There's a plot that moves the piece, and a literal fleeing through fire, and in the end there's a choice. The author's obviously done her research, but has woven it so seamlessly into her story that it serves to take your 'ancient Egypt' blinders off and make you feel like you're viewing it in IMAX.

Genre(s):Crossover/Fusion, Time Travel
Prompt(s): Diary of a Prince
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: PG

This is a Dr Who crossover, done in diary form. It's handwritten, the pages authentic and the accompanying art for each one is striking--most of it in a brown background with stunning and well-placed bits of color. The artist has provided the text below the pages so you don't have to read the handwritten entries if they're too difficult. The story is Snape's, how he meets the Doctor and travels with him, finds a respite, then tells of his despair when he must return to his own life and troubles. There's a search at the end, and I won't spoil it. The overall tone of this is so personal and haunting, it's very hard to shake it off, once you're done.

Title: By Sulfur and Salt

Genre(s): Gender Bender and/or Crossdressing
Prompt(s): Doppelganger, Alchemy
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: NC-17
Word Count: ~16,000
Summary: Snape's idyllic life with Lily is disrupted when the Ministry of Magic takes an interest in them.

Yeah, see that summary? And the genre? And it's Snarry, so you figure it out. The author does the het sex extremely well. Well, it's het sex 'sort off'. Snape has a set-up, willingly and knowingly living out a fantasy, and Harry's more than happy with most parts of it, except for what they actually have to do to maintain it. It's creepy and twisted, but you won't be able to stop reading this. All the psychology behind why Harry initiates this is credible and a bit devastating. But in the end, because the issue of what they're doing has been forced by outsiders, there's a spark and a promise that the split in Harry is about to come together. Not that they'll change anything. Elf writes so well, and both Harry and Snape are so indescribably flawed here, but for some reason I still can't figure out, it's believable to me.

Rating/Warnings: PG

First of all, take a look at that first prompt--uh huh, she did. Love that she did this in black and white. I've got nothing against color, but in this pic, I think the lack of color heightens the, er, glamminess of it. His Worshipfulness aka Snape is allowing the Worshipper aka Harry to tie his shoe. Just loved the bored expression on Snape's face, Harry's lightning bolt t-shirt, and the other canon stuff she's snuck in her.

Title: Timely Actions
Author: [info]odogoddess
Team: Snitch
Genre(s): Time-Travel
Prompt(s): Doppelganger, Coming Home
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: NC-17
Summary: First, Severus had to make sure Harry died. Now he has to make sure Harry lives.

Sometimes I get frustrated with time-travel fics because they're confusing. This isn't one of those--at any given time, you'll know exactly where you are. I'm not going to spoil the excellent reason why Snape isn't dead in this fic, but I will tell you that he ends up back in the Marauder Era, but is deaged. It turns out things weren't as he always believed them to be, and why becomes clear as the story goes on. As is his lot in life, he has to make a hard decision, and once again a sacrifice. When he returns to his own time, he's still young, and then he and Harry (and an OC who's appeared while he was gone) get to know one another. What I really respect about this story is that the author's thought of everything. There isn't one loose end that you could point at and say, "Hey, wot about that?!" I really did enjoy this one, not the least of all because it didn't make me feel stupid for not being able to follow it.

Title: The Life Debt
Artist: [info]chaosraven
Team: SNITCH!
Genre(s): Literary/Historical
Prompt(s):Death Shall Have No Dominion, Stormy Weather
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: G. Implied violence.
Artist's Notes/Disclaimers/Thank you to: I was inspired by a recent viewing of "Sense and Sensibility", however I thought Snape made a much better Marianne than Harry. Small apology to Voldemort for implying he is Willoughby in this scenario as Willoughby is a much bigger bastard.

I think this is one of the most beautiful pieces of art to come out of the Games thus far. Done in muted colors that detail the damp mists of the English countryside well, Harry is the daunting and handsome rescuer here, carrying the injured Snape, while a threatening Morsmordre floats in the sky. That the literary reference to this piece is an Austen novel thrilled me to no end, and the artist has rearranged some roles, but I think it's entirely apt.

Title: Sweet Surrender
Author: [info]gin_tonic
Team: Snitch!
Genre(s): Fusion
Prompt(s): Eat Cake, Consequences
Rating/Warnings: NC-17
Author Notes: This is a fusion between Pushing Daisies and HP, which means that the characters eat a lot of pie. And I want to mention that writing this made me incredibly hungry…
Summary: More than a year has passed since Harry left the Wizarding world. Now he's known as the Pie Maker, but his quiet life is about to be disrupted by an unexpected visitor and a murder.

Okay, I don't know nuttin' bout 'Pushing Daisies', and I didn't read the series synopsis until after I'd read the fic, and I'm telling you, it doesn't matter. The fusion is done so well, you wouldn't know it were one unless you read the authors notes. Harry has brought Snape back to life in the Shrieking Shack, using a dubious gift that has startling and bothersome consequences. He flees the Wizarding world and opens a pie shop, and that's where Snape finds him. There's an intriguing Muggle mystery woven into the story, and as Snape and Harry are reluctantly drawn into it, their relationship develops, and I have to say, I HAVE A NEW SEX KINK now, but I'm not telling you what it is. You'll have to read it for yourself. This is a 'feel good' story, with a wonderful twist at the end.

Title: Return Of The Snape
Artist: [info]snakeysnape
Team: Snitch (Ballz, we got 'em!)
Genre(s): GenderBender/Crossdressing, Fandom Crossovers/Fusion
Prompt(s): Last Hope
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: PG-13 Avoid if you are sensitive to latex or allergic to hairy guys in harem costumes. Contains 100 % industrial strength crack. Not to be taken with food or drink as there is some risk of choking and/or snorting diet Pepsi out your nose. (Ouch!) Also not to be taken seriously. May be hazardous to the health of your computer, not to mention your mind, should you ignore these precautions. If you experience any side effects, take two naked Snapes and call me in the morning. Accidental overdose may be countered with canon. Or laser cannon. Repeatedly. Oh, and I am NOT responsible. :evil grin: For anything.*

Okay, I've pasted the hidden warning here, because, honestly, the warnings and the LJ cut-tag are worth the price of admission alone. The artist has done a cracky Star Wars poster Fusion, and when I first clicked on it, I sat for a full ten minutes, meeping out successive howls of laughter. I'm filled with admiration for this artist's wonderful and disturbing brain. Even if you prefer the classic Snarry art, you're going to love the humor and outrageousness of this one.

Title: Snow Harrie
Author: [info]eriador117
Team: Snitch!
Prompt(s): Secrets and Lies
Genre(s): Literary/Historical, Crossdressing/Genderbender
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: Rated NC17
Summary: Lily has always wanted a baby girl with hair as black as ebony, skin as white as snow and lips as red as blood...

The title tells you who Snow White will be in this fairy tale rendering, and since it's the [info]snarry_games, you can figure out who Prince Charming will be (duh). One of the things I love about fairy tale adaptations is the appearance of all our beloved canon characters in the the various roles. There are a few surprises in this one (who're the villains?), and some more obvious choices (Haaaa, guess who the seven dwarfs are!), but there's also a lovely twist on genderbending and a satisfying, happy ending. I've read a few fairy tale fics, and this has to be one of the best ones. It's not as easy to do as one might think, especially matching the tone and style to that of the particular fairy tale, and the fact that you don't even notice it here is a testament to how well this author has done it.

Title: Sanctuary
Artist: [info]zephre
Team: Snitch
Genre(s): Literary/Historical
Prompt(s): Man in Uniform, Sanctuary
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: PG13; Highlight if you wish to know: * *mild battlefield gore**
Artist's Notes: The Literary and Historical influence for this piece is the "Sharpe" series by Bernard Cornwell, about a British rifleman during the Napoleonic Wars (thus the green uniforms).

One of the best parts of these Games for me has been how artists and writers have embraced the new genres (Of course there's still the Alive and Kicking genre for anyone who wanted to submit standard, classic Snarry, and many have!}. But this piece of art, for me, epitomizes the beauty of these genres. Based on both the literary (The Sharpe Series) and the historical (the Napoleonic Wars), this is a beautifully drawn, short series of war in sepia, communicating the drudgery and division of war, then once inside the tent, a striking single panel suddenly and poignantly humanizes the Harry and Snape caught in this conflict. A bit of h/c, but especially a reminder that these two, in any universe are no strangers to conflict.

Title: If Only
Author: [info]jadzialove
Team: Snitch!
Genre(s): Time Travel
Prompt(s): Consequences, Seeking Knowledge
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: Rated NC17
Summary: Things look rather dire for Severus Snape, until he awakens in a strange room, where he learns 'What Might Have Been' and whether or not he has the mettle to embrace 'What Could Be'.

This is a time travel fic, with Snape on a rather solitary journey. It's an eye-opener for him, each glimpse of his past where he might've made different choices. But as he's trying to understand why this is happening to him at all, he begins to realize that choices have very unforeseen consequences, that his life did have meaning, and that some of the things he might've liked to change could've had horrible outcomes. But then the comes the best part of the story, and why yes! Albus is in it, the ol' meddler, and Snape gets to see one possible (shocking) future: one he realizes that he now has the power to pursue, perhaps, a chance to choose something good and satisfying for himself and a certain Hero. (It's here that the smex occurs, after looking in a Pensieve has made Snape randy and horny.) It's a heartwarming fic, well-written and flows so beautifully. You might need some kleenexes, but you'll smile quite a bit, and that character death warning? Remember they occur in the 'if onlys'.

Title: Shifting
Artist: [info]andreanna
Team: SNITCH!! ftw
Genre(s): Genderbender
Prompt(s): Second Impressions and Coming Home
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: PG13

This is storytelling art, and yes, it involves genderbending. I don't want to spoil the story for you, but her Snape is taciturn and impressive, Harry is genuinely distraught and outraged, but it ends with that happy resolution we all like to see: acceptance of each other. The multiple images are drawn very well, the narrative sparse but adequate, and it's clear this artist has a gift for this format. And Harry has a line in this that felt very good to hear him say, because haven't we all wanted to scream it at Snape at times? "REACT!!"

Title: The Snidget
Author(s): [info]sinick and [info]ac1d6urn
Team: Snitch!
Genre: Alive and Kicking (EWE)
Prompt(s): Last Hope, Skin Deep
Rating: NC-17/Adult
Warnings: Highlight if you wish to know: *Character Deaths, Violence, Swearing*
Word Count: 34000+
Summary: After the Dark Lord's victory, Headmaster Snape is living under a sword's edge, when hope flies in past his shields.

This is my all-time fav writing collab duo, and they have a thumping good fic here! I'll be honest, the transformation of Voldemort in this gave me nightmares. There is a character death warning on this story, but it's not Harry or Snape, although Harry is 'missing' for a while. If you don't know, a snidget is really a bird in reality, one that a surly and preoccupied Snape sort of tolerates at first, then begrudgingly develops affection for; after, that you can guess what happens--the same thing that happens any time you let one of your children actually name a stray animal... Gryffindor's sword makes an appearance in this fic that I'll not spoil, but it bookcases the beginning and end of the drama in a way that I promise you'll never forget...it damned near knocked my socks off! Beautiful descriptive writing, apt characterization, and a conclusion that'll have your heart pounding...and the Snarry, well * smiles happily *

Title: Feel
Artist: [info]gredandfeorge
Team: Snitch
Genre(s): Mentor
Prompt(s): Hold my hand, Symphony
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: PG; none
Artist's Notes: There is something super sexy and intimate about Snape teaching Harry to play an instrument. Piano would have been good too... mmm.

I love this picture. It's a mentor pic with Snape teaching Harry something unusual. It brought back my own violin lessons when my teacher would grab my own left hand and shout, "NO!". But here, there's only quiet concentration and obvious patience. It's a pencil drawing, and there's a calm, peaceful feel to it--that of Harry's absorption and Snape's dedication to teaching something beautiful. I love that it's not something magical that's being taught here, but an art form that they both take pleasure in. Beautifully drawn, wonderfully shadowed and detailed.

Title: Bids and Pieces (of Harry's Life, Post-Happily Ever After)
Author: [info]ziasudra
Team: Team Snitch
Genre(s): Alive and Kicking
Prompt(s): Highest Bidder, Secret and Lies
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Harry's family and old and new friends are somehow all entangled into a web of interconnectedness, spun at the center by a mysterious potions brewer. Who could that be?

Well, given that this is a Snarry, we all know who that potions brewer might be. Harry's got a family, and he tries to be a good husband and father, but there's a side of him that's a secret. There's infidelity here, and also an online correspondence with the potions brewer, as Harry tries to outbid everyone else for the brewer's 'miracle' cures. But for what really ails him, there is no magic potion, but still the potions brewer plays a part in resolving Harry's frustrating dilemma. This is an intriguing story of relationships, and at the end, although sex is a factor, it's clear that it's the companionship those relationships bring that's most important. A feel-good story with other canon characters in sympathetic roles.

Title: Connecting the Dotty
Author: I Got Tired of Waiting [info]igtow
Team: Snitch!
Genre(s): Alive & Kicking (EWE)
Prompt(s): Love and Marriage, Sands of Time
Rating: 14+ for language and a smidgeon of adult themes.
Summary: A gentle tale of growing old together.

Don't see many 'growing old' fics in Snarry fandom, and this one addresses the issues that many of us face: how to handle the decline of a loved one and still preserve their dignity. But it's so much more than that. The author chronicles Harry and Severus' love story, and even though they're very old, they're still very much the characters that we recognize from canon. Poignant, thought-provoking, humorous, and a bit sad in places, but wholeheartedly uplifting. One can only hope that their own twilight years will find them with such sympathetic and supportive family, and a partner who is truly a partner, for better or for worse.

Title: Buttercream
Artist: [info]veridian_dair ([info]cathyrf on LJ)
Team: Snitch all the way!
Genre(s): Alive and Kicking (EWE)
Prompt(s): Love and Marriage, Eat Cake
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: R/NWS.

This is a two-piece entry, so make sure you wait for the second image. It's laden with UST, a bonding ceremony, and as the prompt implies, CAKE. Oh yes, there is cake, in the conventional way, and then there's CAKE in the much more practical way. It's hot and sticky and yummy and it makes me want to go out and buy a cake right now and drag my **** into the bedroom for a feast! Beautifully done, flawlessly executed!

ART Title: The Hero's Return
Artist: [info]cluegirl
Team: Team Snitch
Genre(s): Historical / Literary
Prompt(s): Fire and Sword, Code of Honour
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: Rating, PG13 for boys kissing whilst half-dressed.

I just love it when an author bases their Snarry art on mythical/historical figures. It sort of makes me realize how timeless a story the Snarry one actually is. Reading the backstory in the link the artist has given only enriches the viewing of her art. The art itself is riveting; it took me a long time to leave it and move on. The coloring is muted and beautiful, the detail is masterful, and the intense emotion of the piece just jumps off the page. It's warrior art, and hero!Harry, swords and spears, face-painting and passion!

FIC Title: Thrice Turned
Author: ThreeSidedOrchid aka [info]synn
Team: Snitch!
Genre(s): Genderbending/cross-dressing
Prompt(s): Consequences, Some Enchanted Evening
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: NC-17;
Word Count: ~ 3,100

This is one of those stories that, although short, will burrow into your mind and crop up for weeks, as the implications of what's happened and what will/might happen continue to fester and occur to you from out of nowhere. Not your usual genderbending story, and please heed the warnings (but this is one of those times that makes me hate warnings). I don't want to give this away, but I promise you won't be disappointed. I love everything this author writes, and the first time I read this, I was stunned speechless, and for me, that's saying a hell of a lot. The last battle's over, and someone has died; it might be Snape, but is it really? (ebil grin) Btw, it's canon compliant.
